Request a Free Website
Once you have located several potential members from your local area who
are interested in riding together, the VRA will create a free Yahoo Group
using a custom template that we designed specifically for VRA Chapters.
A Yahoo Group will enable good communication allowing everyone to get to
know one another better, coordinate group rides and plan fun events.
Contact the
National President to request a website. (Be sure to
include what name you would like for your chapter).

Website Alternatives
Although a Yahoo Group offers many useful features and is ideal for
communicating, it does not offer any flexibility for customing your website
content. Below is a list of alternative website options.
1. Other Free community Sites
There are other free community sites besides Yahoo Groups. Ning.com,
for example, is a viable and stylish alternative worth considering.
2. Online Site-Builders
Below are several websites that allow you to create a complete website
using standard templates and an online WYSIWYG editor (No HTML knowledge
required). This option offers a good compromise between flexibility and
ease.
Many webhost providers, such as GoDaddy, also offer an online
site-building feature.
3. Create a website from scratch
If you or one of your members have experience with web development, you
may wish to create a chapter website from scratch. Below is a list of
features commonly sought after by members along with links to some services
that might helpful when creating your site.
Good communication is the most important feature.
NOTE: Should you decide to host your website with an "economical" wehost
provider, it is highly recommended that you do NOT purhase your domain
through them. To avoid issues in the future, purchase your domain with a
well-known and reputable company such as GoDaddy.com and point the domain
name to your website on the other host.
