  • Dragon, Camera-men in the Corners = Potential Accidents

Picked this up on another site....find it very informative and think it will generate a lot of conversation...

So...my short speech, don't waive at the cameraman....Pay Attention to the Road!!!!!

    http://xtremesportsphotography.photo...000&po=0&pc=28

I think the guy may have potentially avoided the accident had he stayed in his lean into the curve....might still have hit...dunno.....thoughts??

Yeah form the distance he flew after hitting makes you wonder how fast he was going. Also based on the pictures looks like he dragged in the lean which may have contributed to him coming out of the lean. As they say in turns, you go where you look. He was looking left not right. Hope he is Ok and was able to ride again!

High speed, sharp curve, distracted driving. Pretty much did everything wrong there. Glad both are ok.

Always better to learn from sombodyelses mistake. The dragon is no place to be distracted, but it can happen anywhere.

Re: Dragon, Camera-men in the Corners = Potential Accidents

I looked through the whole series of pictures and the guy really made a series of mistakes.

                    1. Pay attention to the road, not the guy taking pictures.
                    2. If you're scraping hard parts and already going wide, straightening up ain't gonna help.
                    3. If looked like he was on the brakes, either intermittently or he's got a blinking brake light. As we know from stuff that John, Derry and others commented on earlier, hitting the brakes will also tend to straightend your line.

It looks to me like once he took his eyes off the road, he was done for and was either going straigt into the Vette as he did, or bite the bullet, stay off the brakes probably slide into the Vette after laying it down. Neither choice very good but I think I'd have taken the latter.

Looks like no one cleaned up after the wreck and another rider went off the cliff because of the fluids in the road.

This is an extremely instructive bit of photography. Going too fast, failure continue the counter-steer and he appears not to use a right body-lean to gain more machine/road clearance during the turn.

All of that is easy for me to say sitting here at my desk. I am glad he was as uninjured as he was and glad it wasn't me. I am just as capable of screwing up as the next guy.

Wow..He lived to tell about it

But....sad news...Today here in the Orlando area, we had 3 wrecks that were fatal in a 24 hour period.. NONE of the 3 were the motorcyclists' fault. They all 3 had people turn left into there lane. One was thrown topside and hit by another car.

Sad...we have to watch for THEM cause there sure as hell NOT watching for us!!!!

The comments on Killboy indicates this guy had already had one accident, or at least a drop, earlier in the day.
