Autumn is the time of year when we get to enjoy the cooling temperatures and the fall foliage. While you are out enjoying this time of year pay special attention to the accumulation of leaves on the roadway. Especially after a rain. It doesn't take much to slide a tire and an unprepared rider might overreact and wreck.

In my part of the country folks like to mow and blow the leaves out into the road so when you round that blind corner you are blasting through a large mass of dead leaves.

Be careful out there.

The hurricane coming through on Monday will make the roads a mess; I'll be driving the truck a few days to avoid road rash.

Most of our leaves are gone. We will have alot of sand on our roads too. Its mixed with salt to get rid of the ice.

We used to live in the Twin Cities at Eden Prarie also did some work in Buffalo. You got my respect bro!!! BTW what do you use to filter the mosquitos when you ride durring the one summer month ya'll have?

Leaves can be a huge drag. I don't like riding in the fall or winter because I'm just not comfortable with the roads during these times. I'm a big sissy when it comes to my life and all of that business. I'd also like to know any mosquito remedies....

I,m with you DaBull! In order to have leaves, one must first have trees! We also don't have much insect problems, no water! Besides, the heat in the summer would cause them to burst into flame! Rocks and sand are another matter and we have to watch for that year round.

Thanks Randy, thats one of those things I forget about. We are heading out this weekend to look at fall colors. I will be looking for the leaves on the road as well.

Also watch out for the deer they are out on the roads more this time of the year. I drove through a 6 foot gap between a few deer on the on-ramp to the freeway this morning. I didn't see them till it was too late to stop. I gave the throttle a little twist and the V&H's made one of them jump back a little. After thinking about it a little more, it could have gone the otherway and the deer could have gone the other way and closed the gap on me. However, it was cool to see that deer jump. I think we were both, a little more alert after that,

Now that the corn is starting to be harvested in IL the deer are really on the move for sure.

western north dakota doesn't worry about leaves. cause you can't see the road they are covered with oil trucks. as to the mosquito problem-- in nd we us shotguns----gets them everytime----ride safe while you can--
