Like the video shows, it is hard for cagers to watch for us if we are hiding.
Another good reason to be in the left half of the lane is that the guy behind you might forget you are there if you are riding in the right half of the lane because he starts looking past you at the traffic ahead. Then traffic starts slowing and BAM!'18 Road Glide Special, '18 Moto Guzzi V7III Carbon, '75 KT250 Trials.

I tend to stick to the left when riding the streets. Being seen is as important as my ability to see.
However, due to recent experiences on the highway, I tend to stay towards the inside of whatever lane I am riding in. I have had to split lanes a few times to save my own hide, and I find it best to be prepared for anything.
It's all about the journey.
