Re: 60 Second Safety Lesson - Space & Time
Simple suggestion to correct that, just keep slowing down till they pass. Some people even tailgate on a 4 lane, and I've slowed down to 50 MPH (in the right lane) before some people pass. Usually, I'll be in the slow lane going 5 MPH over, except to pass.
However, with the group that I've ridden with for years up in WI, I've ridden within 10' of others in the group for hours at a time, and had others the same distance behind me, with no apprehension on my part.

Re: 60 Second Safety Lesson - Space & Time
for me, the 2 to 3 second rule applies at all times - bike or car. I'm counting all the time as conditions change whether I drive or ride. If another car/bike comes into my buffer zone I have to adjust by slowing down to get HIM 2-3 seconds in front of me, followed by getting back to speed. I take offensive steps to ensure I'm NOT the dumbass that runs into something in front of him. Tailgating is plain stupid. (sometimes offensive involves a finger too)mikewithabike
