Re: 60 Second Safety Lesson -linking Curves
If "Mr. Crotch Rocket" in the second video understood anything at all about the concept of "push right - go right, push left - go left" he would have stayed in his lane. He had no concept of following distances, either. I'm afraid if I was the lead bike on that trip, I would have waved him around... better to follow that to be afraid of him popping me in the backside if I had to stand on the binders...sigpic

Re: 60 Second Safety Lesson -linking Curves
Went to boot camp in 05 and left my bike back home, got stationed back in WA after four years in Norfolk and got my bike re titled and licensed for the road. While riding from my dads house out to the island where i'm living now I forgot a few of the basics of apexing the corners while taking a challenging road back home for the first time in a while. Needless to say it got a little hairy in some real tight corners that I forgot about. I ended up taking a refresher msr course to get my mind back in the game. Its never too late to get some refresher training if you need it. Good post Bull...

Re: 60 Second Safety Lesson -linking Curves
Regardless of how/why he got there, he's a lucky dude to have been in that curve when he was. A couple more seconds later and we'd be watching a much different video.mikewithabike

Re: 60 Second Safety Lesson -linking Curves
HHmmmm I think if they where not running 12K = 150+ ? going in to the curve [ ok they down shifted slowed a bit] that he would have no problems making that curve. just because you can ride fast does not mean you know how to ride fast... way to many kids think they can ride and crash. had a co worker get a c-rocket [Honda] and think he knew how to ride.... he had the bike 2 weeks before he totaled it in a curve.Glenn Gale, President 1-26

Even experienced riders should be very carefull if they jump from a cruiser to a sport bike or sport tourer they are way faster than a Vulcan and can get you in trouble in a hurry
I found myself going way to fast on my brothers conny . That thing is a blast LOL
