  • New Vulcan owner in Texas.

    Hi all,
My name is Tony. I just bought a 2008 2000 Classic LT. I am looking forward to getting back out on the road, and maybe meeting some of you.

Re: New Vulcan owner in Texas.

Welcome from west MI.. I have an 06 V2K Classic. got it new back when. any problems / questions I can help out with let me know... I do all my own work on my bike and the wife's 3 so I get to work on a few things.
So if you change your own oil there are 3 drain plugs to drain all the oil, one on the clutch cover-- small plug -o-ringed sealed do not force it. it will strip. it takes 6 US qt's with a oil filter. checking the oil is a "pain." hot / cold put a block under the stand or hold it up straight and check the dip stick. do NOT OVER FILL it will blow out the air filter.!! Avon Cobra's seem to be the best tire for the V2. OEM brakes work the best - and the drive belt can make noise. on some bikes.. a little TLC and they run well.
