  • Greetings from Austria

    Hi everybody,

i am an 48 years old "newcomer" from Vienna, Austria. Having an driving license for about 30 years but no bike - yes -the financial problem of the youth.
But now its possible and my wife is not a bitchy

I am not familiar with the current Austrian Bike Scene - but there a many clubs and tour-/riding associations.
We have a lot of interesting routes with many castles or palaces.
In the east the country is wide and flat or small rolling hills. In the west - the alps. Winding roads up to more than 2000 meters - a country for beginners as well as for pro?s ;-)) only the speed limits (50/100/130) is a party pooper.

I will provide a public album with your tours on Picasa,
but it contains only a few pictures - but come back, i?ll enlarge the album?s).

Good Luck to you all from Austria
    Stony

Welcome Stony, that really must be a beautiful place to ride. The Alps would probably be a challenge to any biker.
      Keep sending the pictures.

        Welcome to the forum!

I enjoyed the pics and would love to see more!

        That's a beautiful 900 Classic. I've never heard of a Keeway 250cc.

            Re: Greetings from Austria

            Thanks, ...

Keeway was foundet in Europa, Headquarter is now in China. Engine seems to be an Yamaha 250 Virago from 2005. Cylinder, carburettor, Airstrainer looks identical. But the complete bike (as on picture) was 2999 Euro !!!
Oh, i forgot - the Bike has an built in BulgarAlarm and you can start the engine with remotecontrol. I made jokes to coworkers, hiding the key an told them the bike is voice-controlled
We have terrible weather in Austria, rain or snow - therefore no chance to ride currently .

            greetings

                  Re: Greetings from Austria

Stony, glad to have you with us! Loved the Pictures and looking forward to more! I'll be heading to England and Spain in about a month for a couple of weeks and really looking forward to meeting some of my VRA brothers on the trip. Can't make Austria this time but will try to do so on one of my future trips. One of the benefits to living in Las Vegas is we get to ride year round. Just came in from riding this morning. Hope the snow clears soon and you can get back on the road!

                  Take care and ride safe!

Stony, welcome from Nebraska. We are pretty much right in the middle of the US.
