Welcome aboard Calley03. I'm over in Luzerne, IA, not that far from you. We'll have to get together one of these days for a ride. What side of Des Moines do you live on?

Hopefully, this cooler Summer will not mean a colder than normal Fall and Winter.

              Re: *Newbie/ Vocabulary*

here are a couple for ya calley...

Bagger... old term to describe a Touring bike

Dresser....Term used to describe a fully decked out touring bike (mainly used for harleys)

              Ape Hangers....really Tall Handlebars

Drag Bars....flat handlebars with almost no bends in them

Liquorcycle (likkersickle).. Usually a moped that repeat dui offenders ride because in a lot of states you dont have to have a license or even a tag to ride one

UJM... Universal Japanese Motorcycle usually refers to the bikes made in japan in the early to mid 1970's as they all looked and sounded pretty much alike no matter the brand. They were all utility and no real style of their own.(flat seat, chrome fenders, inline twin or inline 4, and usually some ugly sticker stripe graphics down the tank and side covers)

Greybeard.. An old biker, usually full of riding wisdom and road savy, a good person to listen too about routes, and little cool places to see and eat at that are not on any map or travel guide
