    Stumbled across this forum from a link on the BTK Kawasaki board.

    I'm from Lexington, KY.....moved here about 4 years ago after 25+ years in Mobile, Alabama, to get closer to family. Grew up in Cincinnati. Married for 38 years to a Kentucky native from Elizabethtown. We have 5 grandchildren (+ one on the way) ranging from 7 years old to 2 years old.

    I'm a chemical engineer, working at Lexmark here in Lexington. I work in the R&D group, developing new color laser printers.

    I've ridden off and on since I was 14, including a fair amount of time recently on rented Harley's or a cousin's Heritage Classic, but haven't owned a bike in many years. Two weeks ago I purchased a used 2003 Vulcan 1600 Classic and just love it. It's in great shape, with relatively low mileage. Couple of pics below.

    Welcome Bob!

    A bunch of us were in your neck of the woods in July. We held our annual rally at the KOA campground in Renfro Valley. Had you found us sooner you could have come out and joined us on a ride, not to mention all the campfire socializing.

      If you're interested in joining or starting a Vulcan riding club in your area, post a message here.

            Am I that much older than your typical member?

            BTW, I've got a daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren in Crestview, so we get down your way a couple of times a year. He's and MD in the AF and is stationed at Eglin.

              nope bob, i think you prolly mostly on target age wise...i got a couple of grand kids too...but not 5.5!!

              Do ya'll ride down or drive the car? It'd be nice to meet ya if/when ya'll get down here Maybe have to burn some meat or something

                I've only had the bike a couple of weeks; last time we were in Crestview was in May. My wife doesn't ride, either her own or behind me.....just has no interest at least for now. I'll work on her a bit. In any event I'm not comfortable enough on the bike yet to even think about putting someone up behind me.

                    Hello, my name is Lee, I live between Lexington and Winchester, ride a Vulcan 800 Classic. Have spent five summers on this bike, it's a good one. If you want to know about rides in the area, check out ubadbiker.com I support the Blue Knights and ride in both of their rides every year.
