  • Hello

Good morning, just joined, I'm from northern NJ. My wife has a custom 2001 VN800 and I'm just trying to research some seating options. I went on the tech forums but can't see any topics under each even though it says there's ones there. Am I doing something wrong? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Woody

Welcome to the VRA! If you were looking at some of the forums prior to your account being approved might have been why you didn't see anything?

As far as the seat goes was there a particular style you were looking for? For longer rides/touring Mustang used to offer seats for the 800, and a slimmer option called a day tripper.

        Racinfan,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, that was the problem, but it's been resolved and I did post to the 800 forum. I will look at what you've suggested. My wife's seat has gone out to be redone and I'm looking for a temp cost efficient replacement till it's back (month and a half). This is something that I've been looking at but trying to get some feedback on anyone who's used any products similar to this:

        Thanks,

Beautiful bike! I would be concerned that the bobber seat would require some fabrication to make it fit and would not be a direct bolt on.

Thanks, she likes it. They have kits that are supposed to be bolt on but I have concerns just like you so that's why I'm asking on here if anyone has used any of these before I purchase one

This is the $200.00 one from Bobber Cycle which is really good just don't want to spend that for a temp seat:

I was hoping for one a little cheaper like the link I shared above or on the 800 forum which is a lot more cost efficient for a temp seat

Thanks! Can't take credit as it was a barn find. It was a bike an artist in California who was trying to promote his work. He painted it and then went up and down the coast showing it off to advertise. He then moved to NJ but developed cancer and died shortly there after and the bike sat in a shed for ten years. I purchased it, rehabed it and gave it to my wife as a 50th birthday present
