  • Looking to start a SW Washington/NW Oregon Chapter

Circumstances that were beyond my control meant I had to move out of the Seattle area and give up the VP patch. But it also means I have an opportunity to start a new chapter in the Vancouver WA/Portland OR area. I'm thinking of calling it the Columbia River Chapter so I don't alienate either state.

Looking to start a Facebook page this week, and hopefully a website soon, but I'm not good at those kind of things.

Anywho, any help would be appreciated.

Derek....just emailed some info.... when ready, if you give us city center/area, POC info (email address, FaceBook GROUP page address, etc) we can email everyone in the data base in WA/OR.... Need 4-Vulcan owners to get cranking.....Holler if you need anything...

Derek some of the information Derry sent includes a link to a part of the website that explains the difference in a FB group and FB page. A group would be highly recommended over a page. Make sure to read up on it at - http://vulcanriders.us/create-a-facebook-group/

It is not to terribly difficult to do just takes some trial and error. An actual webpage is great too, but it would be further down on the priority list in my opinion. You will be able to turn up potential chapter members by working Facebook more so at first than spending time working on a website.

Thanks Derry and Randy for getting this to him. Work and other things kept me busy yesterday. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. We will help in any way we can. Don't forget there are several free website hosting services out there, such as www.weebly.com, that make it really easy to create your own website without a lot of knowledge on how to do it. Good luck!!

Ok, so I got the Facebook group up and running. Pretty rudimentary so far but here it is. I'm looking to put together some casual rides, see how things go and if there is enough interest for a chapter. Link below. Please pass italong to anyone you think mightbe interested.

                Thanks

Good deal!! I just got in and have not caught up on FB yet, So if you have not I can share it in the national group, or if you would like to that might even be better, as you could rattle off more of the surrounding towns, and who you are.

So where else are you thinking when you say 'post it in the national group'? I kinda thought that's what I had done here.

Is there another place you had in mind?

I think he was meaning the National FaceBook Group. To see if you can get more responses there.
