  • Hello from Ohio's rust coast

Just wanted to say hi from Cleveland suburbs. Love my 08' 2000LT, only thing I'm not a fan of is the off idle stumble, any suggestions?

          welcome to the group!

If you are referring to the hesitation at starting off then i would recommend cleaning the butterflies and throttle body,,,,i actually have an electric tooth brush that i use after soaking everything .....

HHmm how fast is you idel ? I know they do not have a tack it could be a touch to low. next how clean is the air filter ? can you see day light if you look from the inside out ? You should see a fair amount of light. next as others have stated use some good carb cleaner and make sure the throttle body is clean.. I use "Sea Foam" in the gas tank to clean the injectors /t-body / valves. All so if you can please come to the VRA National Rally this summer here in MI. See the National Rally tab on the main start page.. let us know if any thing we posted worked on the problem.

Re: Hello from Ohio's rust coast

The idle seems high when cold and goes down within 3 minutes or so as it warms up. I haven't put a tach on it but it is performing exactly as it did when it was new. The oil is 10W40 Repsol (nonsynthetic). I have also used this oil since new. It seems most noticable when the engine is still rather cool and the idle has already gone down. Little scary when you start a turn, roll the throttle as you begin to engage the clutch and the engine speed immediately drops rather than accelerating. The air filter is clean, the throttle bodies look perfect, the problem isn't getting worse, just as annoying as it was when new.

Duncan SC and the area around looks like you'd have good riding down there, family just bought some land in Seneca and I'm tryin to convince the wife to relocate south!

I may be a little biased but I think we have some of the best riding down here. Let me know if you convince the wife or if I can get mine to help with the convincing lol . We came down from New York, Buffalo area. Best thing I ever did aside from buying a bike of course. If you get down this way give me a holler and we can meet up. I have people in Wallhalla just down the road from Seneca. We ride around that area quite often
