  • Hello From Ohio

    Hi folks,
Dave here (Lone Rider) from mid-Ohio area. Although this is my first post, I've been here for several months now and learning quite a lot. I'm a newbie--been riding for three years. Started with the Rebel (250cc); moved to the Boulevard (800cc) last year; and, jumped up to the 2009 Nomad earlier this year. I have put over 9,300 miles on her so far (but the Ohio riding season appears to be coming to an "end") and plan to hold on to this one for more than one season--seems to be a very nice ride (although my reference base is limited) with many "extras". And, that is good since it's the journey and not the destination that motivates me.

    Later
    Dave

        Hi Dave!

Beautiful bike, we are just south here in KY. Hopefully we can do some riding up that way next year. Miserable weather right now, lots of rain, but spring is around the corner.

Once again welcome to the board, look forward to chatting with you.

Welcome to the forum Dave. You may not have much to compare to, as you say, but trust us in saying that you'll be hard pressed to find a better bike than the Nomad. That's at the top of the food chain in the bike world and I'm not saying that because it's a Vulcan.

Oh, and after 3 years, 3 bikes and 10,000 miles, I think you can lose the "newbie" title.

If you're saying that, watch one of the "Ride Like a Pro" videos and practice what they preach in a parking lot. It makes a huge difference in riding skill. The PA Chapter has some extra videos that they're trying to sell if you're interested. (They bought a case).

no sure did'nt not from lack of trying, i think he decided that he may not have nine lives if he showed up again. but a friend from work was cleaning out his shop and he found a seat for my 750 that was in great shape and he gave it to me. its great to have good friends.

Welcome Dave. LOL I think we have about 5,337 Daves on here now. LOL thank God there's only one Willy. That's a nice ride. I have the 1700 classic LT. Is your Nomad A 1700?

                      Re: Hello From Ohio

                      All...Thanks for the welcome.

                      Willy...yes, 1700cc (104ci).

Slicks...I've seen/reviewed several of the "Ride Like a Pro" series--outstanding stuff. Thanks. I wish I had started riding earlier, but I was running around in the USAF for 29 years, plus there were other expenses (kids, wife, etc.) that took priority. But, I'll make up for lost time, hopefully--I love to ride and love the Nomad.

Thanks again...still a newbie here with a lot to learn.
