    Dear friends,
    Hello.
I have been riding Vulcans since the 1990s and have returned to this Vulcan forum after many years because I am trying to restore my once proud year 2000 VN 1500 Nomad. My Nomad is really one of very few that have travelled the roads of the Iberian Peninsula in Europe, where I'm located.
After 100,000 km and exposure to rain and sun, the bike is in poorer and poorer shape. I have maintained it the best I could but I live in a city and do not have a garage to protect it. Rubber parts have dried out, some pieces have worn out and fallen off, others have been broken in 'events' - not to mention the fading paint and rust marked chrome!
Anyway, the bike is fine mechanically and I can't afford to just dump it and buy some upgrade, so I want to restore it and get back to cruising.
Much of the restoration will depend upon mechanics and painting, which is NOT a problem. The biggest problem is getting parts that seem to be discontinued.
Right now the hardest parts to replace have been the spot light bar and turn signals.
I originally mounted a standard Kawasaki light bar accessory, which was good looking, well made and effective. It took a hit and broke a lamp, which could not be replaced because it's a closed system. The turn signals are attached to it horizontally. The problem is I can not locate a replacement light bar! Kawasaki no longer displays accessories for the 2000 Nomad. I can not find the vendor on the Net. And worse, I can't seem to find an alternative. I've been interested in the light bar from National Cycle, which mounts integrated turn signals under the the spot lights. The problem however is that the turn signals will hit the lowers!
I would so greatly appreciate suggestions for the spot light bar and the turn signals.
    Thanks and more thanks,
    Alan

Welcome and good luck on your restoration. I would imagine eBay and perhaps some of the International VRA Facebook groups would be your best bet for finding parts.
