  • hot dog chilli recipe

    2lbs hamburger
    1 can tomato paste
2 cans water (tomato paste can)
1 onion -cut up in small food processor, very fine
1/2 box sliced pepperoni - cut in qtrs.
    1 small bottle catsup
    2 tbs. worstershire sauce
    1/2 tbs chili powder
cook in slow cooker for 4 hrs.

heres the trick, instead of frying your hamburger. take a pasta pot one with a built in strainer (basket) boil the hamburger till done. this removes all the grease.

!! if anyone here trys , let me know how you liked it.. enjoy!!

    Re: hot dog chilli recipe

With a few modifications (chili always varies depending upon the area) this really does sound like a good chili. Some jalapeno (or preferable habinero) peppers in there to give it more taste.

Cooking for 4 hours is a must, got to get all the flavors to cook together for awhile. Glad she didn't put in beans, they are a no-no in good Texas chili. Pepperoni is a new one on my, but actually should add quite a bit to the flavor.

      <mouth watering again>
Thanks Randy. Pepperoni is new on me, too but I bet it would add.
We put beer in our chilli instead of water but I can change that myself.

Maybe we could make a special request to Mo to have Randy's chilli one night at the rally?

glad everyones liking it, Fly, peppers sounds like a good addition. John be nice to have some at the rally. and the beer sounds good too. have ya had beer butt chicken? easy to fix. just open beer, insert in butt of chicken, stand up straight so it doent fall over and bake in oven (maybe put some ms dash on outside of chicken).

Thanks for the recipe Randy. Would a vegetable steamer work the same way, putting the meat up top and water underneath?

no the meat has to be submersed in the water for it to boil. i guess you could just boil it in a pot and strain it after its done, never now.
