That's what they called Birmingham in the sixties and seventies before most of the steel mills shut down(yes I'm a grey beard). Bought my 09 Nomad last October, first bike since 1982. Have put 4,000 miles on it since then mostly commuting. If it's not 50% for rain or higher it is my daily driver not because I have to but because I want to. Hoping to find some local like minded folks here to get together with.

Welcome from the Lexington Chapter!
As luck would have it I'm in Birmingham this week visiting family. Rode down from Lexington on Monday. Was at Barber Motorsports Park today and am going to Vulcan Park tomorrow for a picture of me and the bike with the Vulcan statue.Old Crow (Bob)

Re: Hello from smoke city
Good choice Bob, Barbers is a must see if you have never been. I had a chance to go to a corporate event out there last year and it was really interesting.Last edited by TS Tinker; 09-16-2013, 05:14 PM.

Re: Hello from smoke city
Thanks for the welcomes guy's.
I have noticed that the welcome-rs are all chapter presidents or national officers so you guy's are who I kneed to talk to.
After looking through the member list A Birmingham chapter makes good sense. Realistically, how much time am iI looking at over the next year to get it off the ground?

Re: Hello from smoke city
Not much at all really. 4 core Vulcan owners for chapter officers and you are all set! After that you just work on growing a group of like minded Vulcan riders (most chapters are open to all makes though) Other than 4 officers there is no rule on how many members you have, the main goal is to make friends and ride. If you are interested in learning more post a new thread stating as much under the interest in starting a chapter section of the forum, and then we can get you a bunch of useful information to help you get started.Randy - aka racinfan101
