Hey guys, I just bought a 2005 vulcan 1500 classic. Rode dirt bikes for many years as a kid, have never seriously ridden a street bike. Getting a little older so i figured its now or never. Yes, i know its kinda big for a first bike but im 6'4" and about 255 so i figured id tough it out. Anywho, Im looking foward to seeing what the community is like. Im sure im gona have alot of questions but i will try to search. Anyway, hi.

Welcome from the SC 1-50. If I may make a suggestion.. If you have somewhere nearby where you can take a motorcycle training course I would take advantage of it. I reccomend this for anyone who gets a new bike. Even if you have been riding for years its a good way of feeling out your new ride. They all have their own little querks and a training course is a good way to get used to your new ride. just my 2 cents

Welcome from west MI. 1500 are great bikes... best thing to due is find a parking lot and do slow rights / lefts to get the feel of the bike. Ride safe.. and watch for the other guy -- they will not see you. I found that out in the middle of a street on the wife's 1500.

Thanks everybody, I have taken a msf class to get my M class and they scared me. Right now i am getting used to the bike, staying out of town, mostly just putting around. But hopefully I will be really out there in the near future.
