Hello everyone, I just picked up my 1998 Vulcan 800 Classic a couple months ago from my Dad. I was looking for a bike, but everyone around here is a little too proud of what they have. Granted Sturgis is 30 miles away so that probably has a little to do with that. He decided to give me the bike he had because he couldn't reach the forward controls and didn't want to spend another $1000 that he was quoted to put them back. The only stipulation was I had to drive to Arkansas to pick it up. Couldn't pass up that deal, so here I am.

The bike hasn't been ridden in probably 3 years, the majority of that time was spent in storage. I've been slowly going through everything and getting everything back to the way it should be. I rode it to work a week ago and had the front brake lock up on me while riding home. So now I'm in the process of rebuilding the front caliper, been a bit of a pain to track down a rebuild kit. So far it looks like I'll have to piece the kit together myself. I'm also going to rebuild the master cylinder while I'm at it.

    Current Mods:
    Windshield
    Light Bar
    Jardine Forward Controls
    Kuryakyn Widow Pegs
    Kuryakyn Grips
    Hypercharger
Vance & Hines - I think they are the straight shots
    Mustang Seat
Possibly other things, but these are the noticeable ones to me.

I plan on repainting the bike. As of now, I'm thinking black with some dark red ghost flames.

Here are a couple pics of the bike.

Welcome to the VRA!! Glad to have you here, and that is one sharp looking 800!! If you paint it up and do other mods maybe you can ride it back down to Arkansas to show your dad next June and of course come to the 2015 East Rally!!

I will definitely have to consider that.

Welcome to the VRA, I like the way the flames on tank and the air intake look together. I am thinking about putting that one on my Voyager nice to see how it looks installed.
