I currently ride a Vulcan 900 Custom. I got my first bike when I was 8 years old. Raced open class Flat Track, mostly indoor short track and 1/4 mile in the 70's. Have owned about 12 different bikes in my lifetime. I live in West Texas and ride almost everyday. Don't get much rain out here and the weather's pretty mild in the winter so riding year round is possible. I am interested in signing up as a non-chapter member of the VRA but I haven't had much luck sorting out how to do that. Any help would be appreciated. I kinda live in the middle of nowhere and right now the nearest chapter is Waco.

Re: Hello from Robert Lee, Texas
Welcome to the forum.
If you're interested in joining or starting a Vulcan riding club in your area, post a message here.
We only recently started allowing people to join the VRA as a non-Chapter member (before, you had to be belong to a local chapter). A couple pages were recently added to the website:
>> How to Join
>> Non-Chapter Membership
I hope that helps.John Featherlin

Re: Hello from Robert Lee, Texas
Yes, I have been on those pages but where do you sign up and how do you pay and where do you send the payment? The site just says Annual membership dues for non-Chapter Members is $25.00 payable to the National Treasurer. Is there some kind of application? It doesn't say where to send the payment.Thomas "Doc" Self

Re: Hello from Robert Lee, Texas
You've certainly done a lot to the 900 Custom, looks more like one of the big cruisers. Very good good on the changes.
How does the 900 C fit the roads out there in West Texas, where there's a lot of miles between anything and anything else.

I does very good on the winding roads in my area and it's light enough that I can maneuver around the many deer that cross my path.Thomas "Doc" Self

Re: Hello from Robert Lee, Texas
FYI - with the National Treasurer's approval, the Non-Chapter Member page has been updated with the address for sending dues.

Re: Hello from Robert Lee, Texas
teslf - welcome to the family. And I just KNOW that your bike just has to be named ... Kermit!Only a biker understands why a dog hangs its head out of the car window!
VRA membership is free! Pass the word! Have all the say as before but at no cost! What a great plan.
