  • Howdy from Alberta

Just found this place searching for info on a VN400.
I traded my ZX-14 for my VN1600...and I looooove it.

Welcome aboard Toecutter. I spent a week in your beautiful province a couple of years ago, at a big VROC rally, West of Mountain House. Had my first taste of Timmy Hortons coffee and pastries, and it was goooooooooooood. Love some of your beer, hate many of your alcohol laws.

Enjoy, and we'd love to have some Canadian Chapters to talk about, I mean to talk 'with'.

Welcome to the forum ToeCutter. That blows my mind. I don't think I'd ever heard of the VN400. I had to go look it up. Based on this page, it was offered in 1997 but I'm not sure what other years. I wonder if these were sold in the United States.

It looks a lot like the VN800 Classic. To be honest, I think they should have kept this bike as their starter model instead of the VN 500.

Well, this page describes a 2003 VN400 which means they were available when I bought my 2002 VN800A. I guess they just weren't sold in the USA.

        Here's a good video...

They sold a VN400 Drifter, too (view source)....

Thanks for the welcome lads, yeah I've been doing some research on Vulcans for my home site, came across the same links as you fella's did.
They should have imported this one instead of the EN 500 for sure.

Welcome to the Forum I had a 500 but would have loved an 800. I have been very impressed with my 900. Now if i can just save enough for the 1700 vaquero... then I would be set with a touring bike and my play bike
