  • Back in the Saddle!

Hey folks! Just joined and wanted to introduce myself. Back into riding after a 20 year absence...what was I thinkin!

Picked up an '02 Vulcan 750 to get my feet wet again. I am having a great time. Only wish the weather would cooperate just a little bit more.

Got out for a 70 mile trip with my cousin over the weekend...I was still smiling Monday morning!

                Re: Back in the Saddle!

Thanks! I did contact the 1-9 NY Fingerlakes Region chapter...not too sure that its active though. The Mohawk Valley chapter would be 2 - 3 hrs away.

My plan is to do a far amount of riding and gradually include my wife on some rides. She wasn't too keen on this motorcycle thing for me and mentioned that she was scarred for life from a few trips with me up and back on the NYS Thruway on a little Yamaha 400 back in the '80's!

There are 3 or 4 couples that we can ride with (including another Vulcan rider!) so I think she will come around.

Thanks again for the warm welcome from everyone!

Welcome from Mohawk Valley. Bloomfield is about 125 miles from us. That doesn't mean we can't hook up and ride sometime that is if we get some days that aren't raining.

My inlaws are from the Rome area. I hope to head that way at some point...I would really like to get into the Adirondacks for a few days.

                              If I do I'll send you a note...thanks!
