  • Hello from Oklahoma City

Just joined this forum and am looking forward to learning about my " new to me" Vulcan 2000! Previous bike was a Yamaha Venture but I really love the cubic inch ride.
If passing through Oklahoma City, say the word and we're cruising old route 66.

    Thanks for looking, Kevin

        Re: Hello from Oklahoma City

Hi and welcome! what year is the 2000 mine is a 06 Classic. I do all most all my own maintenance and will try to help where ever I can just give a shout here. and with that said.. a couple of things to know... there are 3 oil drain plugs- the one on the clutch cover holds about 1/2 a qt.. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - it,s o-ringed sealed. just snug is good. It will take 6 US qts for an oil change [some same 5.5-5.8] checking the oil level is a great mystery to all.. every one has there way... mine - cold motor - do not start - stand the bike up straight - check the level. or leave on side stand and it should just show on the tip a touch when full. Avon's seem to be the best over all tires for them- A CT will run great on them [35k and still going on mine - not for every one] run 40 psi in the tires. hhmmm a little bit of TLC and they run fore ever...

I will be in Mustang in September, the bad part is that it will not be on the bike.
