Hello all. Just bought a 95 Vulcan 800 a few weeks ago. I almost have it running and I'm just about ready to take it over for MD state inspection. Waiting on a few parts. I figured I would find a Vulcan community and start learning more about the bike.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm having a bit of an issue though. I can now see the member forums, but there are no threads in them. I was curious if there is something other than clicking on the activation link in the registration email that I need to do. I was hoping to find some information on replacing the front pegs because the previous owner laid the bike down and never rode it again. So outside of a dent in the tank, broken mirror, and foot peg it was in great condition. She gave me pegs that she bought to fix them, but was too scared to ride again. That's how I came to own it. The mirror is easy, but I'm not sure how the peg pins come out. Are they pressed in and do I need to keep the spring in there? Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Hello from MD
I'm down that way for the boat ramp at Mariner and Midway, the closest place that sells my brew.
The pegs have a clip on the bottom of pin where they pivot. You don't need to keep the spring but it's recommended. If the peg gets stuck in the up position it's a distraction trying to get it unfolded - distractions on a bike have a way of turning in to a bad day.Bob Howley "ICE CUBE"
