These are some photos of some cool "idea bikes" and a few of my vn800 Classic.
Years ago in high school I owned a 1957 FLH. My dad and brother still play with old HD bikes, and I've been known to pick up an old HD dress up part here and there at swap meets and sales.
Anyhow, after we brought the Classic home, I realized that many of the old HD parts will "fall right on" to the Kaw... The frame dimensions are almost EXACT.
I decided to use some of the cool old stuff I have laying around, making what I believe to be a close to perfect motorcycle... Not only does it look "KOOL" to me, but it performs like no other motorcycle I've ever ridden.
In fact, I think that this is the way an old Panhead SHOULD sound and run... Unfortunately, dey don't... So, I guess I have the best of both worlds now!
It's funny to me.... I'll be out riding, and next thing I know, some "HD GUY" is roaring up next to me saying something like "I never seen one of those in person yet" or, better still... After all of the trying to catch up at a light, they sit there and look really hard at it, and after a few moments say "that ain't a Harley!".. I just look down around the bike and say, "it ain't? Well, that dude that sold it to me said it was!"... Then I holeshot 'em when the light changes! HAHAHA!
I can't tell y'all how much fun we've had with this bike so far!
CHEERS!
